I loved the room, the bed was comfortable. An electronic key card, coffee and tea making facilities, and satellite television were included and the staff were professional and attentive people at check-out.

The room was very pretty nice, comfortable bed. The bathroom was luxurious, with a rainfall shower and a nice shower. The hotel had an oceanfront location on a cliff top overlooking the wild Pacific. The breakfast was delicious and excellent, the check in was smooth...

Exquisite room, amazing location, wonderful staff. The bathroom was beyond belief. Just absolutely perfect for my parents last weekend in Canada. I cannot recommend more highly. It is expensive - I'm not wealthy so it was more than we are used to - but it was worth it.

Unusual hotel with welcoming team at check-out. Easy check-out. The marvellous location for the price, close to the ocean side as well as the beach. Also, in the forest on the edge of the Pacific. My favourite property in Ucluelet.

Great location overlooking the pacific ocean. Nicely designed hotel and generously proportioned suite. Chic, well sized bathroom. Well equipped kitchen.
Very poor level of service and inexperienced staff. When we arrived at 3.55pm we were told that our room was not ready and advised to leave and visit a nearby beach despite the fact that the advertised check-in time was 4pm. Having just driven 5 hours to get there it would have been nice to have been offered a drink or even a quick explanation of the hotels facilities. The expected warm welcome was not forthcoming. Housekeeping service was unsatisfactory for a hotel of this standard / price. Our windows did not appear to have been cleaned for months obstructing the amazing view of the pacific - a real shame. Other problems included bugs and cobwebs around the windows that had not been cleaned and electrical issues with the fans that had been provided in lieu of air conditioning. Also - no room service was available - all in all pretty poor.

The setting and location is excellant. The staff were bright and cheerful.
The bathroom was not attended to and coffee was not replenished. The people who clean the room should be more attentive.

Great site overlooking the rocky waterfront, we had a small request that was attended to by the general manager, she could not have been better. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. This hotel is to be recommended.

Black Rock is on a spectacular setting with the ocean crashing at your feet. Sea life and photo opportunities are all around. The most impressive thing, to me, was the quality of the hotel, our rooms, and the decor. All were outstanding.

I enjoyed the beautifully maintained 4 km trail right outside the hotel and the proximity to local art at the Reflecting Spirit Gallery, made my stay special as a single traveler.

The hotel was clean, very comfortable, the rooms were well appointed, the view was great and the staff were very friendly, I have no complaints about the Black Rock.
The only thing missing was in-room dining (Room service), this wasn't a big problem.

The accommodations were excellent for us. We travelled from Ontario to visit our son (daughter-in-law and grandson (14 mos.)), who is stationed at Esquimalt with the Canadian Navy and had just returned from a month deployment. Beautiful location and very relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful visit - we will definitely come again!

We had such an amazing time! Our suite had a partial ocean view that felt almost full, and we loved the comfortable bed and the kitchen was really well stocked. After a day of exploring, soaking in a hot tub was the perfect way to unwind!
